  5.     This DEMO of WEAVE For Windows is released to the public and may be
  6.     distributed and copied freely.

  8.                        WEAVE for Windows (version 1)
  9.  
  10.     WEAVE for Windows is now available! WEAVE for Windows is a weavers
  11.     drawdown program for the Microsoft Windows operating system.  It
  12.     operates with a mouse and allows the user to design drafts and
  13.     quickly see the results of threading, treadling, and tieup changes.
  14.  
  15.             WEAVE for Windows has the following capabilities;
  16.  
  17.     - Threading repeats up to 1024 long
  18.  
  19.     - Treadling repeats up to 768 long
  20.  
  21.     - Choice of 4, 8, 10, 12, and 16 shafts
  22.  
  23.     - Ten levels of magnification
  24.  
  25.     - A very large selection of colors
  26.  
  27.     - Drawdown printouts with or without the draft (via printer
  28.       installed through Windows)
  29.  
  30.     - A handy 'Project Planner' that will estimate materials and costs
  31.       for a project.
  32.  
  33.     - WEAVE for Windows can take advantage of Microsoft Windows ability
  34.       to "cut & paste" from one application to another. For example,
  35.       paste copies of your drawdown directly into your word processor.
  36.  
  37.     WEAVE for Windows requires Microsoft's Windows 3.X to operate. A VGA
  38.     display is recommended and the 800 X 600 resolution seems to provide
  39.     the best results (WEAVE has NOT been tested on non-VGA displays).  A
  40.     24 pin printer (or better resolution) is also strongly recommended.

  42.     Purchasers of WEAVE for Windows are eligible for free upgrades for a
  43.     one year period following purchase.

  45.     A DEMO (with some functions disabled) of WEAVE for Windows is
  46.     available on Compuserve in the Weaving forum (GO CRAFTS).

  48.     Place your order by filling out the order form (order.txt) and
  49.     mailing the form and your check to ShuttleWorks.

  52.                       DEMO Installation Instructions
  53.  
  54.     "wv_demo.exe" is a self extracting file. Copy "wv_demo.exe" to any
  55.      desired sub-directory on your hard drive. Run "wv_demo.exe" and it
  56.      will automatically de-compress all the required files. Next, run
  57.      Microsoft Windows and install WEAVE For Windows (demo.exe) via the
  58.      'File - New' command. Now you should be able to find the 'WEAVE'
  59.      icon in the Windows group you installed it into. Simply double
  60.      click on the icon to start the DEMO.  (NOTE: Some features have
  61.      been disabled in the DEMO)

  65.     This is a quick, abbreviated list of the commands and functions of
  66.     WEAVE For Windows. Full documentation is included with purchase.

  69.       Load Pattern - Loads existing patterns from selected drive
  70.       Save Pattern - Saves pattern to selected drive
  71.       Delete Pattern - Deletes pattern from selected drive
  72.       About - provides version number, system information
  73.       Exit - Quits the program
  74.  
  75.     Edit:
  76.       Edit Draft:
  77.           Edit Threading - Allows user to edit the threading
  78.           Edit Treadling - Allows user to edit the treadling
  79.           Edit Tieup - Allows user to edit the tieup
  80.       Colors - Allows user to change warp and weft colors
  81.       Magnification - Allows user to change the magnification.
  82.                       (magnification 6 matches the draft exactly)
  83.       # of Shafts - Allows the user to change the number of shafts

  85.     Options:
  86.       Show Draft - Allows user to select whether or not to include the
  87.                    draft in the drawdown. (A checkmark means WEAVE will
  88.                    show the draft)
  89.       Autoweave - Allows the user to select whether or not WEAVE will
  90.                   automatically produce a new drawdown after any change.
  91.                   (A checkmark means Autoweave is on.)
  92.       Weave - tells WEAVE to produce a drawdown
  93.       Start New:
  94.           Clear All - Clears the threading, treadling, tieup and notes
  95.           Clear All But Tieup - Clears the threading, treadling and
  96.                                 notes
  97.       Note - Allows the user to input any desired notes
  98.       Print Screen - Prints the drawdown on the printer
  99.       Project Planner - Takes user to the 'Project Planner' sub-program
  100.                         In the Project Planner, click on any entry to
  101.                         change.  Click 'DONE' when complete. A "results"
  102.                         window will open to display the Estimated
  103.                         Project Costs.
  104.           Go Back - returns to the Project Planner screen to allow more
  105.                     changes
  106.           Print - Asks further info on materials, etc., and then prints
  107.                   a full report, including cost information, warp and
  108.                   weft information, and a log to record weaving time,
  109.                   actual shrinkage, etc.,
  110.           Quit - Returns to WEAVE for Windows.

  112.     To "copy" a drawdown to the Windows clipboard, hit the 'print
  113.     screen' key. You may now exit (or minimized) WEAVE For Windows and
  114.     paste it wherever you want. For example, you could go to the
  115.     Paintbrush application and "paste" in your drawdown, edit or change
  116.     it, then "paste" your edited version into your Windows word
  117.     processor for use in a Newsletter!
