This DEMO of WEAVE For Windows is released to the public and may be
distributed and copied freely.
WEAVE for Windows (version 1)
WEAVE for Windows is now available! WEAVE for Windows is a weavers
drawdown program for the Microsoft Windows operating system. It
operates with a mouse and allows the user to design drafts and
quickly see the results of threading, treadling, and tieup changes.
WEAVE for Windows has the following capabilities;
- Threading repeats up to 1024 long
- Treadling repeats up to 768 long
- Choice of 4, 8, 10, 12, and 16 shafts
- Ten levels of magnification
- A very large selection of colors
- Drawdown printouts with or without the draft (via printer
installed through Windows)
- A handy 'Project Planner' that will estimate materials and costs
for a project.
- WEAVE for Windows can take advantage of Microsoft Windows ability
to "cut & paste" from one application to another. For example,
paste copies of your drawdown directly into your word processor.
WEAVE for Windows requires Microsoft's Windows 3.X to operate. A VGA
display is recommended and the 800 X 600 resolution seems to provide
the best results (WEAVE has NOT been tested on non-VGA displays). A
24 pin printer (or better resolution) is also strongly recommended.
Purchasers of WEAVE for Windows are eligible for free upgrades for a
one year period following purchase.
A DEMO (with some functions disabled) of WEAVE for Windows is
available on Compuserve in the Weaving forum (GO CRAFTS).
Place your order by filling out the order form (order.txt) and
mailing the form and your check to ShuttleWorks.
DEMO Installation Instructions
"wv_demo.exe" is a self extracting file. Copy "wv_demo.exe" to any
desired sub-directory on your hard drive. Run "wv_demo.exe" and it
will automatically de-compress all the required files. Next, run
Microsoft Windows and install WEAVE For Windows (demo.exe) via the
'File - New' command. Now you should be able to find the 'WEAVE'
icon in the Windows group you installed it into. Simply double
click on the icon to start the DEMO. (NOTE: Some features have
been disabled in the DEMO)
